The Columbia River is full of summer fishing action with lots of opportunities all summer long. Salmon, sturgeon, and steelhead are all catchable during the summer months on the lower Columbia River.

Many of our families and friend groups enjoy booking multiple-day trips to get an opportunity to target a variety of fish types. One of our favorite combos is summer steelhead and sturgeon. Especially since sturgeon is a guaranteed day of fish fighting action!

Lots of action, monster-size fish, and multiple fish hook-ups are the highlight of sturgeon fishing on the Columbia River near Astoria, Oregon. Great fun for the whole family! Trips available from May through July.
Beautiful summer weather and aggressively biting fish make this fishery a blast and one of our favorites! Typically we’re booking trips for summer “steelies” from May through August.
We don’t always get to fish for Chinook in the early summer, but this year is an exception. Known as “June Hogs”, these fish are sought after for their size and quality. With a 2 fish limit this year we expect lots of action in June and July.
On calm days you can find us out on the ocean targeting hungry and aggressive salmon. The most action-packed salmon fishing of the year takes place here starting late June and going through July. The sportfish quota is a very liberal 120,000 coho this year so we expect lots of action and full freezers!
Sometimes called the “super bowl of salmon fishing”, Buoy 10, draws anglers from around the globe. Hundreds of thousands of fish migrate into the Columbia River to head upstream for spawning in a relatively short timeframe. This year we’re expecting the largest run in over 25 years of Coho, with a 1.6 million fish prediction! We’ll have our chance to catch Chinook and Coho from August 1st through Labor Day. After Labor Day, we can no longer keep Chinook, but Coho goes up to a three fish limit.
