Fishing Report – 2020 Sturgeon Season on the Columbia River

The Columbia River sturgeon fishing season for retention has historically been select dates in May and June. As of today (May 28, 2020), Oregon and Washington wildlife officials have yet to come to an agreement for sturgeon retention for the 2020 season. Once retention dates are set we will send out an update by email (join our email list). Regardless of the retention dates we are booking catch and release fishing trips through July. These monster fish are awesome fun to catch and release!

As of today (5/22/2020), under the current Phase 1 Covid-19 reopening of Oregon, we are able to accommodate up to 2 people from different households or 3 people from the same household. We have thorough cleaning and sanitation procedures in place to provide a safe fishing trip for everyone.

Fishing Report – Bottom Fishing for Rockfish, Lingcod & Crabbing Tillamook Bay

When the tides and weather conditions are calm enough during the summer months we are offering bottom fishing charter trips out of Tillamook Bay. Species we may catch, depending on the season, include Black Rockfish, Copper Rockfish, Lingcod, and Dungeness Crab. Catching Rockfish and Lingcod just off the jetty is great fun and lots of action. It’s a great time for the whole family!

Garibaldi Marina, just north of Tillamook, is where we’ll meet and launch our boat from. We can accommodate up to 4 people in our 22′ River Wild Aluminum Power Boat. We provide everything you need for your trip, including, tackle, bait, fish cleaning, and filleting, as well as cooking your crab. All you need to bring is your fishing/shellfish licenses, lunch, and weather appropriate clothing. Don’t forget sunglasses and sunscreen!

Bottom fishing in Tillamook Bay provides a great opportunity to park the boat on the beach of Bay Ocean Spit and stretch your legs or have a picnic lunch. It’s perfect to let the kids get their wiggles out!

Check out this clip of a family of four with 4 fish on at once!
